Google Products

The first thing that comes to mind when Google is mentioned, is without a doubt searching. Google’s flagship product is google.com which is the search engine itself. People even use “googling” instead of “searching.” “To google” is actually a verb in the Oxford Dictionary. Google.com is the most visited site in the world. Most people have it in their homepage in their browsers. The reason why google.com is the most used search engine is because it has become the most trusted source for page rankings in search. It is also easy to change features of the search such as to select “last week” “only news” and similar different options.

The second most used service of Google is Gmail. It has around 200 million active users. Even though Gmail is not the most used email service, it certainly is the best. Gmail was launched in 2004, which was an invitation-only beta release. It became available to public in 2007, though it was still in beta status. It upgraded from beta status in 2009 and continues to get upgrades periodically.

Google has a lot of internet products, all of which this blog is not explaining in detail right now. But to give some examples: Earth, Picasa, Talk, Toolbar, Blogger (which is the biggest competitor of WordPress), Buzz, Documents, News, iGoogle, Orkut, Latitude and many many more.
